Habitat: Imera Island. In ancient time they occupied all four Islands of the Union. A small colony was found on the north part of Noramgerd.

Size: adults are about 1,5 – 3 m long and 0.7-1 m height

Mass: 80-200 kg

The ‘Thorn’ part of the name describes the ability of the species to disappear in the local environment. Almost the entire coast of the Imeria Island is covered with the black volcano clay, which has a lot of mica. It shines in the sunlight. The shores are covered with bushes of yellow thorn – the only plant which can survive on such ground. The dragon hides in the bushes, with its yellow bone plates perfectly merging in the shrub. They usually sleep for the whole day, basking in the sunshine, and at night they go hunting. Their meal consists mostly of eggs, lizards, crab and fish.

They can be dangerous during mating season, but usually they avoid humans. Despite the fact that the official hunting on them is forbidden, poachers catch them and sell to the wealthy citizens, who keep them in their gardens.
